Cylinder Beach stormed home to win the Group 3 Gunsynd Classic (1800m) a fortnight ago and remains outright $3.80 favourite in 2016 Rough Habit Plate betting markets with leading online bookie Ladbrokes.com.au.

A standout for trainer Desleigh Forster through the 2015 edition of the Brisbane Winter Carnival, Cylinder Beach ran fifth in the Listed Dalrello Stakes (1200m); progressing to third in the Group 2 BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1350m) before ending his campaign fourth in the Group 1 JJ Atkins (1600m).

Drawn ideally in barrier 3, Cylinder Beach will be partnered by last start hoop Michael Cahill and is sure to have taken plenty of benefit from his first-up run.

The Chris Waller-trained Mackintosh has continued to receive steady support in 2016 Rough Habit Plate betting markets and remains sole occupant of the second line at a quote of $3.90.

Beginning his racing career under the guidance of James Bridge in New Zealand, Mackintosh won a Te Rapa minor over 1400m on debut in November before immediately returning to the paddock.

Continuing to impressive through two starts across the ditch upon resuming this year, the Pins gelding failed to make anything of an impact when 12th in the Group 1 Randwick Guineas (1600m) on March 5th, but charged home to win the Fishboy Seafoods BM77 (1500m) in his first start for Waller a fortnight ago.

Stable mate Trafalgar is yet to herald much interest in 2016 Rough Habit Plate betting markets, but remains outright third-favourite at a generous quote of $5.50 for success and is more than worth consideration for a bet.

Claiming three wins and two minors through six career starts so far, the Hinchinbrook gelding resumed after a brief freshen-up for success in the Bowermans Furniture BM78 (1300m) on April 13th, but was completely luckless when ninth in the Fishboy Seafoods BM77 last time out.

Tap This ($8.50) interestingly figures as the only other runner currently available at 2016 Rough Habit Plate odds of less-than $10.
