Jumbo Prince displayed a keen turn of foot to win the Toowoomba Guineas (1625m) last weekend and has been confirmed by trainer Michael Nolan to back-up in the 2015 Rough Habit Plate.

Posting eight wins and a further seven minors through his nineteen career starts so far, Jumbo Prince has arguably found career-best form this date this time, having won the Professor G McKeller Memorial Handicap (1200m) and finished second in the Stradbroke Eve Calcutta BM85 (1350m) leading into last Saturday’s triumph.

Needing some luck in transit from barrier 9, the son of Outback Prince is sure to receive a gem of a ride from jockey Luke Tarrant.

Peter Moody is set to be offered two good chances for success in the 2015 Rough Habit Plate having confirmed Inauguration and Upham in the final field.

Posting two wins and two minors through eight career starts, Inauguration returned this time for a credible third in the Group 3 Carbine Club Stakes (1600m) before a luckless performance for ninth in the Group 3 Gunsynd Classic (1800m) on the Gold Coast last time out.

Sure to relish a step-up to 2000m, the Authorized gelding will likely receive the run of the race in the Rough Habit Plate from barrier 5.

Finishing outside the first three only once through six career starts, Upham carries great form into the Rough Habit Plate having run third in a Warwick Farm minor over 1400m first-up, won the Lakes Podiatry Handicap (1600m) and finished second in the Gunsynd Classic leading into Saturday’s race.

Also requiring some luck from barrier 8, the son of Mastercraftsman has been confirmed to be partnered by Kerrin McEvoy.

The Robert Heathcote-trained Gid Up Strop has been allocated the rails draw for the 2015 Rough Habit Plate while Chris Waller’s Sadler’s Lake has been charged with overcoming the wide barrier 11.
